THE ALIANZA REGIONAL PARTICIPATES ON THE IV INTERNATIONAL FORUM ON HUMAN RIGHTS AND INFORMATION AND COMMUNICATION TECHNOLOGY

The Alianza Regional por la Libre Expresin e Informacin participates in the IV International Forum on Human Rights and Information and Communication Technology, on October 18th and 19th in Mexico City, represented by the Asociacin por los Derechos Civiles (ADC) of Argentina. This event is organized by the National Polytechnic Institute of Mexico, together with the Secretariat of Public Education, the Ministry of Civil Service, the National Commission on Human Rights, Human Rights Commission of Mexico City, the UNESCO Chair in Human Rights of the National Autonomous University of Mexico, the Federal Institute of Access to Information and Data Protection (IFAI), the Electoral Institute of the Federal District and the Legal Center for Human Rights of Mexico. The forum's objective is to generate exchanges of experience in human rights issues and its relationship with technologies of information and communication, under the identification of challenges in terms of international standards and legislation. The Asociacin por los Derechos Civiles ADC was selected to represent the Alianza Regional in the panel "Human Rights in Cyberspace" that will take place on October 19 th. Ramiro lvarez Ugarte, Director of the Area on Access to Information will be doing the presentation. In this sense, the ADC carries out actions on the use of communication technology and other rights, having filed an amicus brief before the Supreme Court in Argentina, on the liability of Internet search engines on the dissemination of information.
