Sculpture Tapas:

Sample a bit of each technique. Spend time exploring the possibilities and limits of each medium. Then combine two or three mediums you like the most to make your final sculpture(s) of the term. Using references and putting down ideas in sketchbook. Paper: Create interesting samples of at least 4 paper sculpture techniques. (use paper packet) Cut Tear Fold Weave Notch Score & Shape Pierce Ideas: --Create an abstract collage.(combine techniques)--Create a small maquette for a public sculpture (notching technique)--Create a bas relief (2 or 3 levels) Create a lamp (piercing technique) Wire: Create a sculpture from one long continuous piece of wire Create a sculpture by connecting multiple lengths of wire Ideas: -Create a self portrait by laying wire over a photo of yourself or looking in the mirror. -Draw designs on paper or find a 2-D design. Lay wire on top and form into that design. Create multiple copies and combine into 3-D sculpture. --Using references create a person, animal, or bird Subtractive Sculpture: Cast Plaster Carve Foam Carve or alter Cast Plaster Final Sculpture: -Create a sculpture using at least two of the above mediums. Found objects can be added. Bring in your own specialized supplies like spray paint, feathers, beads, etc. and your own found objects. Do sketches. Do research. Find Inspiration. Elaboratedont settle for so so. Take risks. Have fun!

Open to a random page, three different books, a dictionary, a textbook, and a magazine. Choose one vocab word, passage or sentence, or an idea from each page and draw sketches that illustrate one or all of your random words.

Doodling We all think of doodling as the mindless marks we make in our notebook. Doodling can also be the mindless experimenting with different materials. Scribble, doodle, create flowing lines. Look for interesting shapes within and color in.
