Enlisted some of the activities that are legal yet unethical and illegal but ethical.

Legal but Unethical:

A stockbroker issuing a Buy recommendation to his customers for a stock that his company knows is not a good investment; in fact the brokerage house owns some of this stock and is trying to dump it before it goes down.

The GRAFT, if you give your doctor some money but dont ask for anything that could be seen as unethical because graft could be implied even if nothing wrong was done. It is perfectly legal to operate a multilevel marketing and pyramid type operations even though it is unethical to promise people that they will make Rs. 40,000 a week. Plucking up a flower from garden is legal but unethical; after all it doesnt break any rules. Flag burning is legal but highly unethical and immoral.

Illegal but Ethical:

Suicide is Illegal but ethical and humane. The GRAFT, if you give your doctor money in exchange for requested preferential treatment, that is Illegal but ethical. Stealing a loaf of bread to feed a starving baby is ethical but illegal.

It is illegal to let someone else use your prescription asthma inhaler even though it might be ethical thing to do if they are having an attack. It is illegal to lease a car or apartment in your name for someone else who otherwise would not qualify but it is an ethical thing to do if it is going to help them succeed in life.
