dear course participants 

about week two

this is the first day of week 2 of the course "strategies for combating social exclusion 
at a local level". we will be starting module 2 (http://tinyurl.com/z4bz3) the module is 
called "strategic approach" where we look forward to going into more depth into your 
context and also to starting to explore the resources in ciaris.

if you didn't manage to get into moodle or to the discussions during week one, 
please put most of that aside until you have more time. the task from week one that 
is important to do, if you haven't already done it, is a portfolio entry from module 1. 
please do it as soon as possible. post your results of the distance learning quiz and 
self­analysis to your portfolio in the moodle site.  this information is both helpful for 
you as you notice your own development during the course and it is helpful for us in 
preparing future activities.

starting today you should focus on week 2, where you will be describing and 
analysing your context in more detail. we will be working in two groups, so check 
which group you are in at the bottom of this email.go to "our discussions" in moodle 
and click on "2. strategic approach" to review the tasks. 

about talking and listening

most people on the course are writing in their second language, which usually 
demands more time and a certain amount of risk­taking as you expose yourself in 
words that are not always easy to find. thank you to everyone who is making an effort 
to write and listen to people writing in another language, whether it's "language" from 
another country or from another context, practice or discipline.

about groups
during week 2 you will start working in groups. these groups are loosely based on 
your expressed areas of interest and frequency of posting that we observed during 
the first week. check which group you are in and open a new topic discussion inside 
that group to start giving us more detail about your context.
