rt is not certain when rgnaz Moscheles ( 1794-1870) wrote this concertante, probably
in the years I82l- 1546, when he lived in London. After his return to Germany, he
wrote a second version, which in 1868, he sent to the oboe player Ferling in stuttgart.
It was played in the concerts of the Court of Wiirttemberg several times by Ferling
and his colleague Kriiger. This present edition is based on a privately owned. copy in
France. It was collated with another copy belonging to the Handschriftensammlung der
Wiirttembergischen Landesbibliothek in Stuttgart. Both are very similar and only a few
errors had to be corrected. Changes are marked in brackets,
