Note We have to look at the defense before we change channels. The defense is organized, and not committed in numbers to the ruck. We lose territory in this instance. Team Pause the video and draw a line that connects our defensive line as dots. What is the shape? Now go back to the 1:00 minute mark. What is Bentleys shape? Who is better? Adrianne Youve been stalled for in mid field for the past two minutes. We practiced kicking down into their end. Give it a go. Open up the game, put some pressure on them. B Great hustle kid and a very smart play. Team Where is their wing? Where is our wing? What is our spacing like in the D line? No wonder they scored here. Look where everyones eyes are. No way we can defend when we just star at the ruck. Team We work the ball across the field for a reason! Look to the far side on their defense! Three girls! Instead, we just send the ball back into the heart of their defense. Bad reads killed us in this game. Team If we are receiving a 22m dropoutexploded scrum middle of the field, hooker marks the kicker. Simple and we cover. Team We are tackling in instead of out. This tackle needs to be made by the loose forwards at the back of the lineou. If they cant make it, we need new loose forwards. B/Defense Our tendency to tackle in allows players to break the line off of our outside shoulder. Here, B is looking in at Maggie mark so when the ball comes outside of her she has a harder time making her tackle and misses it. Forwards Our loose forwards and fly half need to tackle. Backs This far into the game, and the backs have not broken the gain line once. Sena You need to take angles in front of the opposition. Aim for outside shoulders and they wont be able to get up field outside of you. Loosies Now that is some scrum defense! Finally! Jess What was the penalty here? Shiela/Backs Handling and Kicking (for touch) errors cost us well over 100yds in territory up to this point. Teekie What was this penalty for? Backs Have some work to do.
