ASTM International Israel Israel & ASTM International For over 100 years, ASTM International has served as a forum for the development and publication of technical standards for materials, products, services, and systems In 2007, the Standards Institution of Israel (SIl) and ASTM International signed an agreement to encourage greater cooperation in standards development and the reciprocal transfer of technology. ‘Over 150 ASTM standards have been adopted by reference or used as the basis Israeli standards. In May 2008, ASTM International and Sil will host a training session on flammability requirements for children’s apparel sold in the United States. An ASTM expert will explain U.S. legal requirements and a voluntary ASTM test method for flammability of textiles that exporters to the U.S. may use to comply with relevant regulation. This workshop is just one sign of the growing partnership between ASTM International and Sil Israeli Participation ASTM Interna' ASTM International brings together technical experts representing regulators, producers, consumers, and academia to create voluntary consensus standards. Participation in ASTM International is open to all with a material interest, anywhere in the world. Currently, 40 technical experts from Israel help develop ASTM standards through participation ina range of technical committees, from aerospace to thermal insulation.
