Dunolly Horse Activity Club Inc.

Congratulations to US for hosting a great HRCAV statewide event in the Top Teams Trophy Navigation Ride last month The day went very smoothly with no major incidents. Well done to the team of volunteers who helped make it such a great day. A very special thank you to our tireless Secretary, Jeanette who really co-ordinated each aspect of the day from the trails & questions at the beginning through to the trophies and prizes at the end. Of course there were a few hiccups & we are under orders from Jeanette NOT to win another TTT for at least a year while she recovers! Other particular thank yous to Gill for helping with the trails and questions, Maria for catering and with help from Sharon in the canteen, Wayne, Colin & Michelle for gearcheck, Merron checking in cards, Arnold, Jessica and Raymond at the drink stops as well as Rod Austin. Thank you to Kaye for picking up the rugs & returning the bibs newly washed. Thanks to Deb Bright for the Elgas trailer run &Vanessa Maes for help with score sheets. Andrea was excellent in charge of parking & general dispute resolution Sonya, Bill & Judy for the scoring and anyone who Ive missed out on (you know who you are sorry) Congratulations also, to the winning team of Tullarook Family Riding with two of the winning members, Debbie Austin & Mandy Organ also being associate members of Dunolly HAC Bev Mumford & Chris Ezard also made up their team. Well done. Our team of Sonya, Judy, Andrea & Kaye came a very close second with our other team of April, Deb bright, Karen & Melissa 5th in the teams event.. Cross-Country Grant Submission Before Jeanette had a chance to draw breath after the TTT event she was busy re-working our submission to the Shire to build a crosscountry course at our grounds. After a meeting by a sub-committee the papers were all finalized so that Jeanette, Merron and Gill could personally hand the submission to Martin Marks at the Goldfields shire which put the bill at $45 000. Unfortunately we will not know the status of our bid until December but, if we are successful, we need to start building the course to have it completed in a year. If we are successful we need a large input of cash into the project from the club which means we will need some serious fundraising. If you have any ideas that might help towards raising some funds please speak to Jeanette.

ATHRA In order to fulfill the requirements of our club to be part of the Trail Riders Association we should hold three trail rides each year that are advertised and open to all ATHRA members. That means we need to hold one before the end of the year. Possible dates are for November, particularly the 25th, which is the 5th Sunday of the month and so does not clash with regular rallies, but none confirmed as yet. I will let the members know as soon as possible by e-mail when make a decision.

Next Rally 25th September at the club grounds we will have a talk on how to prepare yourself and your horse for the show ring by Rebecca Ingle. We should see some pretty well presented Dunolly members competing at our Gymkhana after that. Bring your horse and grooming gear. There will also be a course of obstacles set up for those who want to have a go riding as well . Dunolly Gymkhana Sunday 9th October we would love all our riding members to compete but if you dont wish to strut your stuff please come along on the day as we will need ring stewards as well as other helpers please. As usual any donations of cakes and slices would be appreciated. There will be a working bee to prepare the grounds on Saturday 8th of October after lunchtime.
