Employee Promotion

Definition

Appointment to a position requiring higher qualifications such as greater skill or longer experience and involving a higher level of responsibility, a higher rate of pay, and a title change is considered a promotion and will be classified as such in all personnel documents. Promotions will be made without regard to the race, color, sex, religion, age, ethnic origin, or disability of the employee. 2. Eligibility To be eligible for promotion, an employee must be employed with the Company for a minimum of two years. 3. Procedures

In case of free jobs:


3.1 All job openings will be posted in the Department of Human Resources 3.2 Employees who desire to apply for a particular job must complete an Application for Employment within 10 business days of the initial posting. Additionally, Supervisors and Department Heads can recommend employees as candidates for promotion. 3.3 Qualified candidates will be interviewed by the head of the department in which the job opening occurs. Employees applying or being considered for promotion will be allowed time off with pay for job interviews related to promotion.

In case of promotion for current employee :


3.4 The head of the employing department is responsible to select the most qualified applicant for the position. In evaluating current employees for promotion, the following factors will be considered: a. b. c. Attendance and work records Performance evaluations Letters of recommendation from former supervisors

3.5 Employees selected for promotion may be placed on probation for a period not to exceed three months.
