NOTaS ClENTIFIGAS E RESENHAS NEW RECORD OF Glironia venusta (BUSHY-TAILED OPOSSUM) (MAMMALIA, GLIRONIIDAE) FOR THE STATE OF RONDONIA - BRAZIL, The bushy-tailed opossum Glironia vewusta Thomas, [912 ig a rare and small marsupisl (heed and body length of 161-205 min}, whose distribution is poorly known in the upper Amazonian region of Brazil (State of Amazonas}, Ecuador, Peru, acd olivia (MARSHAL, 1078; EMMONS 4 PERK, 1997, NOWAK, 1999) (Figure 1). Four out of nine specimens recorded in the Ilerature were acquired fiom commercial animal dealers (MARSHAL, op. elt) Gilironia verse is listed in the 20172 IUCN Red List of Threatened Species as vulnerable (TUCN, 2002), (On 17 May 2001, a0 individual of. vemasca was ceaptred in a pitfall trap (200 liter with 00 centimeter ‘of height) with drift fences, in an area of open rain- forest during a study of snake community ofthe Jabuti Farm (1°35°-11°38°S; 60°41'-60045°W: 280 m as!)
