Teaching Competence
The purpose of this exercise is to help you analyse your needs as VTE Teachers. Follow the four steps, one at a time, in the order presented here. Step 1: Present Level of Teaching Competence On the scale below, please tick following areas Area of Competence

Step 2: Target Level of Teaching Competence Beside each area of competence on the previous page, circle the box on the scale to indicate the Target level of competence you would like to achieve.
Step 3: Usefulness of Teaching Competencies Write an X beside the number (e.g. X 23.) of any teaching competency on the previous page, that you find of little use in your technical area. Step 4: Identify Areas of Competence for Improvement Analyse the results of your evaluation by listing: 1. areas where you need little improvement 2. areas where you would like to improve (List them in the order of most to least)
