Cleaning Your Nintendo NES Games

After you have opened your game cartridge when looking at the game cartridge

you will notice that there is a gold ting to the connectors. These connectors are located on

the bottom of the game cartridge. This gold ting is actually oxidization that has occurred

and interferes with the game cartridge communications with the Nintendo system,

therefore making the game not work. Also this oxidization can transfer to the new 72 bit

pins in the game system itself and therefore can stop them from working properly.
Steps to cleaning your game:

1. Take some of the cleaning solution and spread it on the game connector

2. Use an anti-static cloth and scrub the connector. Continue to scrub and

add additional cleaning solution until your connector looks like this
3. Make sure to clean all of the little metal pins on both sides until they are all shiny

grey as seen on the picture.

4. After you are done cleaning the game simply take some of the anti-static spray

and spray both sides of the connectors and wipe them clean with a fresh paper

towel. The purpose of this is to remove any residue cleaning solution left over on the

contacts.

5. Reassemble your game cartridge and it should work like new
