Alberta Liberal Leadership Candidate Raj Sherman to call every Albertan to ask for support
Edmonton- The Alberta Liberal Party is currently in the midst of a contest to select its next leader, to replace outgoing leader David Swann. The new leader will be selected September 10, 2011. The rules for this leadership race are different than in any other previous leadership campaign for any political party in Alberta: people do not need to purchase a Party membership to vote. They must only register as supporters of the Alberta Liberal Party, which is free, and can be done online. Raj Shermans campaign team will be calling every household in Alberta over the next week, starting on Sunday July 24, to invite all Albertans to register their support for the Party, and vote for Raj as leader. Were making it very easy for Albertans to sign up as supporters and vote for me as the next Alberta Liberal leader, says Sherman. Its free, its quick, and you dont have to become a card carrying Party member. When our team calls in the next few days, were hoping that thousands of Albertans will sign up as Alberta Liberal supporters and vote for me in the leadership race. People who register their support up until August 19 will be mailed a PIN number that allows them to vote online or by phone in the leadership contest.
