Overview: DNA was isolated from an environmental sample then ligated to BAC vectors for
molecular cloning. Libraries were constructed from E. coli cultures and the expressions of different
proteins were analyzed.
Assignment: Analyze a metagenomic sequence utilizing programs such as BlastX, Genmark, and
ViroBike. Build profiles to expose possible viruses and their corresponding reading frames, full
description of sequence (G-C fraction, Dinucleotide Biases, proteins found in the reading frames,
location in which organism was found) and identity of which phage the DNA sample was taken
from.

• Can prepare and perform various MS medium, gel electrophoresis, PCR, and TLC.
