Kyla Richey of Roberts Creek, B.C., added 12 points for the victors who finish the tournament with an overall 4-4 record. The Canadians were 2-3 in the round robin and 2-1 in the consolation playoff round. Im proud with how we responded today, said Pavan, whose point haul in the last match earned her the top scorer award of the competition with 115 total points, one point more than Cuban Kenia Carcace. We did much better than yesterday and were leaving the tournament with a good feeling. The Canadian women's team now has a short rest and recovery break before continuing their training later in July. Next up for them will be a 4 match series with the Netherlands in Ontario from August 16-21. This series will offer fans in Ontario an opportunity to see Team Canadas top line up face the Netherlands as both teams prepare for the Olympic Qualification process that will begin the following month. Both the Canadian (ranked 20th in the world) and Netherlands (ranked 12th) national teams will be showing off their A-squads as these matches will be instrumental in their preparations and lead up to their respective zone championships the following month.
