Drop-Ocean: Primal Illuion It seems that all spiritual endeavors rest on the assumption of the separateness of the drop

and its promptings to become one with the ocean, once and for all. And all spiritual practicesall yogasare geared towards removing this sense of separation. The complete cessation of this sense of separation is generally referred to as awakening or enlightenment. If we deeply reflect on this condrum we realize that at no time drop is ever not one with the ocean. The drop really does not have to doanything to become ocean. It just has to realize that it has never been separte from the ocean to begin with. Only its insistence on being a drop is the real culprit. It just has to realize its true nature as water. Paani Mein Meen Piyasi, Mohe suun suun aye Haansi. (The fish is thirsty in the water, when i hear this laughter comes out of me ) ~Sant Kabir. This insistence on being separate is what is referred to as Ego. It is purely a human invention and has not reality whatsoever. It is an imposter! Still, it has caused all the troubles, conflicts, and wars in human history. Once it is seen for what it isan illusionwe slip into a mode of being where there is no one-up-ness and we enjoy our brief sojourn on this planet as a carnival, as a grand play called Lila. Ego is the grand creation--maya-- without which no human existence is possible: Bharamyaan sarvabhutani yantrarudhani mayaya! Understood in this manner, all spritual practices occur in the realm of make-believe. After all, how could an ego which is an illusion can ever come upon what is Real?! But what can I do? the seeker still insists. Sri Ramana Maharshi provided perhaps the best answer: Be!

Just Be! You are ocean already. Totality already! Just let go of your insistence on being a drop. Thats all. The ocean of Sat-Chit-Ananda: Existence-Consciouness-Bliss Absolute!

Four Vedas were churned to bring out four Mahavakyas (Aphorisms): 1) Prajnanam Brahma ----- Knowledge is God ----- Rig Veda. 2) Aham Brahmasmi ----- I Am God ----- Yajur Veda. 3) Tat Twam Asi ----- You are That (God) ---- Sama Veda. 4) Ayam Atman Brahma----- Self is God ---- Athar Veda.
