11148993 Revilla, Cristina What Ive Learned So Far Citizenship and Governance, I interpreted it as a subject that discusses on how

to be a good citizen, your role as a citizen and the ways on acquiring Filipino citizenship. Its actually one of the few subjects I look forward to every week (no BS there ). Our professor makes things easier for us as he always gives us advices on how to survive DLSU as well as this subject. In this class, I appreciated the existence of our wonderful library as I learned that the best resources lay in books rather than using the internet as most of the information there is not reliable. Anyway, regarding the subject itself, its pretty interesting our first topic regarding the five elements of a state, Tecson VS COMELEC, Athenian democracy and our current topic now, a debate on the RH Bill. I read a lot of things before so I guess thats why I enjoy this subject a lot since all we do is read, read, understand and recite; that is pretty much my forte so yeah. In our first topic regarding the elements of the state, I learned that the citizens are actually the most important element as without citizens the purpose of territory, sovereignty and the government is futile. As we fully discussed citizens, I learned stuff about the case of FPJ and how to acquire Filipino citizenship and such. This subject gets pretty interesting as we discuss and read things and regarding the recitations, Im not scared as I know that Im always prepared for these things. Okay so maybe about the Athenian Democracy, on our first recitation I wasnt that prepared but on my second try I think I did pretty well. For the RH bill debate, our side lost but it was still pretty good because we really did try our best. I was against the RH bill for the debate when in reality I used to be for it but as I was doing research regarding my side for the debate, I then realized that I was just neutral to both sides. I guess being against the RH bill for the debate had a big influence on me as I was able to fully understand the premises of this bill. It was right for our professor to say that we shouldnt have an opinion on something when we clearly dont know what it was all about. So yeah, basically those are the things that I have learned so far and Im definitely looking forward for our next meeting and topics.
