SURGICAL INTERVENTION 3 types of surgical management of Femoral Psuoaneursm 1)

Re-suture of the anastomosis with or without a patch it is the surgical suturing or joining of the anastomosis formed by the pseudoaneurysm. It may only be suturing through the anastomosis or using a patch then surgically suturing the patch together with the artery. graft replacement (interposition graft) - it is done by taking a blood vessel preferably of the same type (arteryartery). The preffered site is the lower of the inner tibial artery. After taking the graft, a segment of the artery of the pseudoaneurysm is cut and then the graft is used to connect the opposite ends of the cut artery. excision of a segment of the graft and anastomosis excision is the cutting of the artery to block the bloodflow towards the false aneurysm to stop the accumulation or leaking of blood outside the artery. The excision is made proximal to pseudoaneurysm. In addition, the blood formation of the pseudoaneurysm(outside the artery or blood vessel) is being removed.

4) Ligation of the artery Ligation is the tying of both end of the blood vessel proximal and distal of the pseudoaneurysm. This prevent bloodflow towards the pseudoaneurysm and thus preventing further leakage of blood into the pseudoaneurysm and outside the artery.
