Literature as an Art.

Mans capacity to produce and use literature as a form of art has been enhanced by modern printing which turns out millions of books and other printed materials. All kinds of printed literature reach an increasing number of people through various distributive networks. Radio and television reach the people through the spoken word and animated sights, sounds and colors. Story plays are televised to inform, entertain educate us. They also provide aesthetic vicarious experiences. The film and comic strips and televisions have given us a form of literature conveyed in images and words. Film scripts and television plays are written by authors to entertain and educate the audience or readers.

Nature of Literature. Literature is derived from the Latin word Litera or Litterae, meaning letters.
