NEVER accept anyone's word that 2 gun is “unloaded” o: “empty’. You should immediately open the action and check to make sure its unloaded. Be careful with ALL ammunition. Even “blank” cartridges. are deadly at close range due to the muzzle blast Make sure your ammunition is in new and in 400d clean condition. Do NOT oil or grease amma as this may damage the cartidge primer. Do NOT tamperwith or alter the standard factory ammunition Keep fireerms unloaded when not actually in use. Load the gun only when on the range prepering to fire and unload it before leaving the range. ‘Never put your hand over the muzzle of a gun. ALWAYS WEAR protective shooting glasses and hearingprotection when using firearms. Spectators should be at leest 10 feet behind and away from the shooter while the shooter is loading, shooting and unloading. Spectators should wear protection for hearing and sight loss end they should avod distracting tose ‘shooting their firearms. Never drop your gun. If you de drop, unload it and check it for proper function before using it again. Do NOT alter or modify your gun. Keep in 2 dry place away from other ‘metals and water. If your gun shows sign of corrosion or improper operation, have it serviced by a competent gunsmith Keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction when loading and unloading your gun. Always be sure the barrol is free of any obstruction. ‘Since many ammunition identifications sound similar, be sure that you use only the correct ammunition for your gun. Do NOT use the wrong size or wrong strength ammunition in your firearm, Repeated and prolonged exposure fo gunfire may cause toxic levels of lead in your body. USED FIREARMS - If you got your Europoan American Armory firearm as a used gun, BEFORE USING IT you sheuld unload it and check all its functions to be sure t works correctly. Firearms re some times altered to work incorrectly, or parts may be removed, lest or replaced with incorrect pars. First, Unioad it and check it yourself and then teke it fo 2 good gunsmith whe knows European American Armory firearms, ano have him examine it. WRITE US concerning any items or circumstances which you don’t understand and which might relate to your sefety and the operation of your tearm, WARNING BEFORE LOADING offing a firearm, exemine the boreand the fring chamber tobe certain they are clean and free of eny obstruction. Even aheavy coat ofc, grease, snawor water may resultin damage tothe fream andinjurytothe shooter and/or persons near the frearm. A misfire or unusual sound upon fring isa signal tocease firing and to examine thechamber and bore, ifthere isany cbstruction, clear the obstruction andclean the bore ard chamber before firing. FIRING WARNING When shooting, ful eye and ear protection is mandatory at all times, Shooters and spectators must wear shooting glasses and sound suppressor to prevent eye jury and hearing loss. Vision loss and hearing impairment can occur with only one moment of non-protection WARNING Any bore obstruction, even fitis only partly bocked, may cause the gun toblow Up iftis fred, or may cause damage to the gun such as a bulged barrel, To ayoid injury or death to the shooter or bystanders, check the barrel before shooting ar if @ shot does not sound normal. WARNING Aways keep the muzzle pointad in a safe direction! Never attempt to load or unload any fieerm inside a venicle, bulding or other confined space (except a properly constructed shooting range). Enclosed areas ‘requenty offer no completely safe direction in which to point the firearm. if an accidental discharge occurs, there is great risk of injury or property damage. Before loading, alvays clean all, grease anc oi fromthe bore and chamber, and check tobe certain that no obstuction is inthe barrel, Any foreign matter inthe barrel Could resut in a bulged or burst barrel or other darrage to the frearm and could Cause seroUs injury t the shooter or to cthers, WARNING If there is any reason to suspect that a bullet or projectile is obstucting the barrel, immediately unload the firearm (See Unloading Instructions) and check the chamber and the bore. A bullet may be lodged some distance down the barrel where it can not easily be seen, Check the bore by using a cleaning rod to pass through the barrel. Ifa blockage is in the bore, 00 NOT ATTEMPT TO SHOOT IT OUT WITH ANOTHER CARTRIDGE, OR BLOW IT OUT WITH A BLANK CARTRIDGE OR A CARTRIDGE FROM WHICH THE BULLET HAS BEEN REMOVED. SUCH TECHNIQUE(S) CAN GENERATE EXCESSIVE PRESSURE, DAMAGE THE FIREARM AND CAUSE SERIOUS PERSONAL INJURY. If the blockage can be removed with a cleaning rod, clean any unburned powder grains from the tore, chambers & mechanism before resuming shooting. IF the blockage cen not be dislodged by tapping it wth a cleaning rod, take the firearm to a gunsmith 5 WARNING (Mechanical Malfunctions) STOP SHOOTING IMMEDIATELY AND UNLOAD YOUR FIREARM if your firearm develops: a mechanical maifuncton: binding ot stopoage: spitting powderigas: a cartidge primer is punctured; a cartridge case is bulged or Tuptured; or the sound on fring does not sound quite right Do NOT try onemere stot but unload your firearm anc take it and the ammunition to @ qualified gunsmith or sendiithack to EAA forexamination. Do not assume that the firearm is empty merely because you checked the chamber. You must also check the bore for any fired shot or wad jammed inside the barrel. External Control Parts: Bolt Block Safety: Located on recetver above trigger, pivot slide style. When ‘moved to the full up position blocks bolt movement, covers bolt ang blocks tigger ‘movement When inthe lower position bot is fully exposed anc free to move and, the firearm wil fire if rigger is pulled! Do not disengage safely unless you are ready to fire the firearm. (Safely Engaged - Bolt Covered and Blocked and the trigger is blocked from full travel, Safety Disengaged - Bolts fully exposed and. the trager has ulltrevel... MAKE SURE YOU UNDERSTAND HOWTHE SAFETY WORKS BEFORE YOU LOAD ORUSE THE FIREARM) Trigger: Located in the trgger guerd with safety disengaged and trigger pulled tothe rear the firearm will discharge. Bolt Cocking Handle: Locatedon right hand side of the firearm protrudes from bolt used for pullng bot rearward, Magazine Release Lever: Used for insertion or removal of the magazine, To insert the magazine engage the front lug of the magazine with the magazine lug located in the front of the magazine well. With the lugs engaged you should be. able to swing the magazine up into the locked position. To remove the magazine push the magazine release lever forward and swing the magazine down while pushing the magazine release lever. Upper ReceiverRelease Latch: Located in back of receiver above stock, Ifthe detente is depressed and the latch is depressed, the upoer receiver dust cover can be temoved for disassembly, See disassembly section of manual. Upper Receiver Release Latch Detente: Located on upper reoeiver release: latch. Round bution that must first 0¢ depressed before latch is depressed. Bolt Gatch (Not onall Models): Located by trigger guard. To usethe Bolt Gatch move the safely to the off position and pull the bolt to the rear and then push the Bolt Caich up so that it engages the bolt and holds It in the rear position. Now. release the bolt and it should be held in place by the Bolt Catch, Note: The Bolt Catch was added to some models of Saiza guns so as to allow easier Icadng of the frearm, Thus, to load a gun wih a Bolt Catch simply lock the bolt back as direciedabove, insertmagazine as directed above. Then pullthe bolt handle‘o the rear and release and the bolt handle and the bolt will strip a round from the magazine. Immediately move bolt block safety to the safe fostion after a round has been etripped from the magazine. 6 INFORMATION FIGURES Direction for Assembly ‘The Saiga comes fuly assembled. Make sure the frearmis pointed in a safe direction a al times, the safety is engaged, andnever allow fingers er objects to contact trigger. 2. Do not load firearm until you are ready to fire. 3. Remove magazine ifitis not already removed 4. Do not disengage the safety 5. Make sure the ammo that you are usingis the correct size and gauge, The receiveris marked with the gauge/chamber size or caliber, shotgun barrels marked 3° will aso use 2 3/4" or 3" shot shells. 6. Visually inspect the chamber for obstructions by moving the bolt back and looking into the chamber. The chamber should be free of oil or grease or obstiuctions... The chamber is the reer portion of the barre! where the carindge sides into from the pressure applied by the bot. 7. Fig 9: After determining there are ro cbstructions in the chamber release the bot and move the bolt block safety up orinthe safe position, so thatit blocks the moverrent ofthe bolt 8. Fig 7: For shotguns, inset five or less cartridges ino the magazine, For rifles, insert ten or less ccartriiges into the magazine. *WARNING** Never insert the magazine into the receiver until you are ready to fre the firearm, 9. FIG 8: With the bolt in the forward position and the bolt block safety in the safe position you may now insert the magazine as described in tho provious section. You may then pull the tigger again if you wish to fire another round. 6, Ifthe firearm stops firing due to failure or full use ofammunition follow unloading instructions below. To Unload Firearm 4. Fig 11: Make sure that gun is pointed in safe drection and engage safety, if not already engaged. ‘Never allow your inger or anyobjectto come in contact, ‘withthe trigger during tne unioading operation. 2. Fig 12: Remove the magazine by pushing the magazine release lever forward unti it touches the od) ofthe magazine, wie keeping the release lever in the forward positon swing tne magazine forward and out ofthe receiver. 3, With the magazine removed move the bolt block safety to I's ower position, slide the bolt to the rearward position va the cocking handle and inspect the chamber to be certain theffrearm is empty and free of debris and then re-engage the safety so thatits holding thebottin the rearward positon If there was a spent or unspentcartridge in thechamberit should of been ejecied If thereisacartndge stuck in the chamber and i did not come out when you moved the boltto the rear, obtain cleaning rod and push the cartidge out backward. MANUFACTURER'S WARNING This fiream was manufectured to properly perform with the original pats as designed. Itis your duly io make sure any parts you buy ae correctly installed aiid thal neither repiacemen's nor originals are allered or changed. Your gun is, ‘a complex tool with many perts thet must relate correctly to other parts for safe and accurate operation. Always leta qualified gunsmith work on your gun or at least, check any work not performed by a gunsmith Firearms safety is your primary concern, THE GUN, OWNER MUST ACCEPT FULL RESPONSIBILITY FOR THE CORRECT REASSEMBLY AND FUNCTIONING OF THE FIREARM AFTER ANY DISASSEMBLY OR REPLACEMENT OF PARTS. ° Direction for Disassembly for Cleaning and Maintenance and Reassembly Make sure the cun is unloadec and pointed in a safe direction. Materias needed to clean ths firearmare: 2 cleaning rod, cotton bore patches, brass bore brush, powder solvent, a small softbrush and good quality gun oil WARNING: Lead or lead compounds are known to the Slate of California to cause cancer, birth defects, reproductive toxicty, and other serious physical injury. Those who clean frearms should teke protective measures to avoid contact or excosure to such chemicals. 2. Using the bore brush with powder solvent scrub the barral and chamber to remove any powder and lead residue in the bore. CAUTION in using solvents in gun bore desning, Prolonged or excesscontect with finish or bluing can damage the gun's fnich, Beeure to wipe away allexcess solventand then lubricate with ol 7. A gun should be cleaned after fing. in addition, external parts should be ‘wiped with an oiled cloth after handling. If a gun is used frequently, it must be cleaned after each fring and regularly serviced by a professional gunsmith, Ifthe gun has been stored, remove all excess oil and/or grease before tng.
