Setting Sound Quality


To ensure your computer's microphone and audio devices work properly, it is recommended that you follow the illustrations
below so that the optimal sound quality can be secured.

Adjusting Volume for Audio Devices

Note: 1. If your computer OS is Windows 2000, please install the software IM Magician (enclosed on the CD) before using
the camera.
2. The camera is plug and play on windows XP or later. No driver is required. If you would like to use additional
functions on the camera, please install the software (enclosed on the CD) first, and ensure your computer system
having USB 2.0 high-speed capability.
3. When using the camera, don’t forcibly rotate the lens. This will damage the internal wire and make your camera
unavailable.

“IM Magician” Software Installation


Note: The software is applicable to Windows 2000, Windows XP, Vista.
Step 1: Please uninstall any previously installed web camera driver
before installing “A4 TECH Viewcam” software.
Step 2: Insert the enclosed driver (CD) to start installation. Then
you’ll see “Figure A” pop up (shown as the right figure).
Step 3: Click “IM Magician” to install the software in Figure. A.
Step 4: Follow the on-screen steps to finish driver installation.
Step5: When the installation is completed, restart your computer.

Step 6: The icon “ ” will appear on the desktop, then you have

successfully installed the driver. Double click the icon “ ”or go to

Start—Programs—A4tech IM Magician---IM Magician to launch the software.


Then you will see the main menu appear as shown on the right.

To remove the driver, follow the steps below:


Go to START, then select PROGRAMS >> A4Tech IM Magician>> Uninstall IM
Magician.

NOTE: Please access the help system to learn more about this IM Magician
software.
VmCAP Installation
Step 1: Insert the enclosed CD, Step 2: Double click
then you’ll see “Figure A” pop the icon from the

>>Select “Audio”.
C. Click “Capture” option of “Amcap Screen” >> Select “Start Capture”,
then you’ll see “Figure.B “pop up. (Shown as the below figure). Then
it will record and save videos.

D. Click “Capture” option of “Amcap Screen” >>Select “Stop Capture” to finish recording. Then you can
save videos on your PC, email it, upload it online, burn to DVD!

EYE” Software Installation


The latest version of VP-EYE offers a new look that makes image editing much more fun and intuitive. There are a lot of
improvements and enhancements that come with VP-EYE 6.0, here are some of the new features that you can expect in VP-EYE 6.0.
1. Enter the setup interface of the A4TECH USB2.0 PC Camera 2. Click "VP-EYE Program" for increment application
driver installation, shown as the below figur(Fig. A) installation, the below interface as shown in the picture
will automatically pop up for your setup.

3. Follow the on-screen steps to finish “VP-EYE” software 4. The“ ”VP-EYE” icon will appear on your desktop,
installation. then you have successfully installed the “VP-EYE
Software”.
5. Double click “VP-EYE” icon , you’ll see “Figure 1” 6. Click the help” ” icon in “Figure 1”, then you
pop up (shown as the below figure). will get more function and usage of “VP-EYE”.

How to know if your computer has USB 2.0?
Step 1: Select “Control Panel” on your computer
Step 2: Double-click “System”
Step 3: Click the “Hardware” tab
Step 4: Click the “Device Manager” button
Step 5: Within the Device Manager, click the “Universal Serial Bus
Controllers” folder.
Step 6: If in the list of controllers you see the word "Enhanced", the system has USB 2.0 high-speed capability.
Troubleshooting
Question 1: Computer can’t detect the webcam
Solving Method: Check if computer’s OS (Operating System), BIOS, USB Port or installation error occurs.
Steps: Windows 95 doesn’t support USB port. You have to update your OS to Windows 2000 or above to support USB port and
ensure BIOS Setup and USB settings are available. If the problem still occurs, please try connecting the A4TECH PC camera
to your machine via another USB socket.

Question 2: My video image is too dim or too light.


Solving Method: Adjust the brightness and contrast background.
Steps: Because the A4TECH PC camera can be easily affected by light, therefore, we suggested proceeding from usage
environment and screen object such as increasing object brightness or moving light source.

Question 3: Color is defective


Problem: After installation, if you found the image is not as expected as you want. Is the color part defective?
Solving Method: Adjust the color settings related to video snapping course options or have the color settings related set
as “ default “.

Question 4: Bloom screen occurs during the course of usage


Method 1: Check if USB power is clean, because the A4TECH PC camera is easily affected. If the USB power wave is too
large, then such problem will occur. You may use another computer to test it.
Method 2: Check if the driver conflicts with other computer hardware devices.
Method 3: Check the A4TECH PC camera driver and match it with A4TECH PC camera model; in addition also use other video
cards to confirm if the current video card and its driver are incompatible with A4TECH PC camera.

Question 5:Remote video isn’t smooth as expected


This issue is caused by two reasons:
1) The actual net band with is not enough and you are suggested to modify the conference properties to decrease the video
occupying bandwidth or to reduce the contemporaneous windows numbers
2) Please check the computer CPU space-occupying rate and if it is too high then please decrease it to reduce the
contemporaneous windows numbers.

Question 6:How come I couldn’t hear any sound via MSN Messenger even after the successful installation of the driver?
1) Maybe the micro voice is not enable, so please click the voice icon in the system tray at the right bottom of computer
screen to check if the micro voice is enable, if not, please enable it in the control volume.
2) Sometimes, the MSN messenger is too old to support both sound card and your A4TECH PC camera, so please upgrade your MSN
messenger to support your A4TECH PC camera and sound card.
