Applications are invited for a post of


JUNIOR RESEARCH FELLOW (JRF)
in Department of Biotechnology (DBT) funded project
ONGC Department of Genetics and Molecular Biology
Vision Research Foundation, Sankara Nethralaya,

Chennai – 600006, Tamil Nadu, India

Applications are invited from Indian nationals for a post of JRF in DBT funded project entitled
“Molecular Basis of X-Linked Juvenile Retinoschisis: mutational screening of RS1 gene and
functional characterization of the identified mutations” [Ref.: BT/PR15111/GBD/27/322/2011] to
be implemented at the Department of Genetics and Molecular Biology, by Principal Investigator
Dr. A. J Pandian.

The post is purely temporary for a period of 2 years. Candidates with research experience in
Molecular Biology are preferable.

Name of the post: Junior Research Fellow

Qualification: Master of Science in any Biological sciences and NET* qualified (or)
Graduate degree in Professional courses (related to Biological Sciences) and
GATE or equivalent qualification.

Salary: Rs.12,000 / 16,000 + 30% HRA per month.

*NET: National Entrance Test (includes examinations conducted by Department of Science and Technology (DST) or
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) or Department of Biotechnology (DBT) or Council of Scientific and Industrial
Research (CSIR) for JRF fellowship / Lectureship).
