Re: Auburn Police Investigate Stabbing – Suspect Wanted

On Monday May 23, 2011 at approximately 3:24pm, Auburn Police were dispatched to
the area of 36 E. Genesee Street on the report of a 31 year old male suffering from a stab
wound to his left arm. Upon police arrival the victim was located at the A-Plus Mini
Mart where he ran after being stabbed at a nearby residence. The victim was
subsequently treated by Auburn Fire personnel and transported by TLC Ambulance to
Auburn Memorial Hospital for further treatment of non life threatening injuries.

The investigation thus far has revealed that the victim got into a verbal altercation with
one of his roommates, Vincent M. Cyr, which turned violent when Cyr allegedly
produced a knife and slashed the victim on his left arm causing a laceration. The victim
then fled the apartment running to the A-Plus for help. The suspect also fled the seen
prior to police arrival and at the time of this media release has not been located.

The Auburn Police Department currently has a signed arrest warrant for Vincent M. Cyr
charging him with assault 2nd and criminal possession of a weapon 4th. Cyr is believed to
be operating a 2006 Pontiac Grand Prix, four door black, bearing New York license plate
DVY9731. Cyr should be considered armed and dangerous. Do not attempt to approach
or apprehend him. Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Cyr or information
pertaining to this case is encouraged to contact the Auburn Police Department at 315-
