Writing Instructions

In Science Year 1 were working on the Sounds and Hearing unit and we had
a sound studio as our role play area. We made instruments which tied in well
with instruction writing.
To teach I made the shaker with the children then I enlarged the blank
writing template and model wrote instructions very simply.

Differentiated activities
Higher
Use the blank template and full word bank.

Middle
Use the partially completed sheet with the appropriate word bank.

Lower
With TA support they made scrapers (2 blocks of wood with sandpaper
glued to one side. Rub them together to make the scraping sound.)
Then as a group (or individually) they completed enlarged Scraper
instruction sheet.
