Wales

The flags name is Y draig goch and it means the red dragon.
The flag was officially accepted in 1959, but the dragon has a long time
been associated with Wales. The flag was used by Henry VII in the battle
for Agincourt.

Tourists attractions

Wales is sometimes called “Land of castles” and it is because it has

many medieval castles. A castle worth to visit is Chepstow in southeast
Wales. It is a mighty and beautiful castle. Chepstow great hall was built
in 1067 and is the oldest surviving stone fortification in Britain.
Another place worth to visit if you like sport is Millennium stadium.
Millennium is Wales’s national arena and is located in Cardiff.
The arena cost 121million pounds to build and have capacity of 74.500
peoples. The arena was finished in 26 June 1999 and it was built to host
the rugby world cup of the same year.

The stadium is built of 54 thousand tons of concrete and steel. In 2005 a

documentary named jump Britain that shows free runners, in the show
Sebastian Foucan jump over the opened roof of the arena.

Cardiff

Cardiff is the capital of Wales and the most populated city in Wales.
The area of the city is about 6.600km2 and the population is 324.800 in
the city. Cardiff was made a city in year 1905 and proclaimed capital of
Wales in 1955.
If you like shopping you should go to St.Davids centre it cost 675milion
pounds to build and its 130.000m2 large which makes it to one of the
largest shopping center in the UK. Cardiff is the welsh base for national
television broadcaster (BBC, ITV1 Wales). The main local news paper in
Cardiff is the south Wales echo.

Cardiff has twin arrangement with Luhansk in Ukraine, Hordaland in

Norway, Nantes in France, Stuttgart in Germany and Xiamen in China.
Cardiff airport is situated 16 km west of the city and is the only
international airport in Wales.

The number of higher education students in the city is about 43.900

students. Cardiff was listed on the top ten destinations in the UK on the
official British tourist board website Visit Britain.
