The Path Forward:

Adding Value Every Day

In the past few years, businesses across the board were shaken by an international economic tsunami. This shaking affected our lives to the core on many fronts: tuitions, mortgages, jobs, retirement pensions, even our comfortable way of thinking. The bubble truly burst. Now as the dust clears, businesses are entering an unparalleled threshold of recovery. As administrative professionals, our desire for 2011 is to move forward on our path of work and life in a positive and purposed way, and to be valued as we become engaged, creative, fulfilled and purposed, more than ever before.

You're stronger. You're in a better place than three years ago. It's time to wake up, get up and move again!

Let's get excited about delivering added value. Let's develop our unique value, turn the page on the past and focus on the path forward.

The 18th Annual Conference for Administrative Excellence will help you position yourself for this brave new world of business.

TECHNOLOGY: Tools, Tricks and Taboos - Issues & Best Practices

Facilitated by Joan Burge, Founder and CEO, Office Dynamics

As Joan Burge travels the country coaching hundreds of administrative professionals, she has heard about troubling issues unique to

_ administrators who work side-by-side with

their leaders. While technology is an asset in our hurry-up fast-paced world, it has also created new problems: Leaders use many more tools today than in the past. These tools range from mobile phones to BlackBerry devices to Smartphones; notebooks to iPads; Kindles to Nooks; AirCards@, video conferencing ... and of course, the apps and road-warrior equipment required to use all of them!

Sometimes, crisis centers around locating the right power cord but all too often, it's far more complex. Leaders using multiple technologies simultaneously make their assistant's job far more challenging ... And, the flow of information is so diverse and immense -- becoming a virtual deluge, simultaneously flowing from many sources. Joan has learned many best practices from her continual interaction with administrative professionals. In this lively discussion, Joan will facilitate group dialog about technology tools, tricks, and taboos. Come to this one-of-a-kind session with your issues as well as your best practices. Bring a list of any great resources, tips, and/or technologies to share with your peers.

• What's the best tech tip you've ever learned?

• Do you know how to avoid tech taboos? Do you know what they are?

• Biggest faux pas with technology you've ever seen?

• What tech resources do you and your leader peruse?

What does spirituality have to do with your job? Are you passionate about the career you've chosen? Are you taking every opportunity in your career to make use of your spiritual gifts? Do you know what those gifts are? There are four dimensions of energy: physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual. When we engage each of these, we are on "The Path Forward" and we add value every day. Look for the spiritual signals that will bring you closer to your highest purpose as an administrative professional.

• Determine your spiritual gifts and how to use them to be more successful in your career

• Learn how setbacks and disappointments might actually serve to bring you closer to the perfect plan for your life

• Identify circumstances that "trigger" your passion and creativity

• Embrace your inner spirit
