How unstable is your knee?

In other words, how much would you rate your instability on a scale 1-10? (Ten being the worst)

If you are having instability problems then there is something you can do to help provide support
now. Knee braces can be extremely effective tools that can give you that extra support you need
and can be obtained very quickly.

There are many reasons why you might be having instability issues. Do one of the following
sound like a problem that you are having currently?

1.) ACL Injury / Tear

2.) Knee Strain
3.) MCL Sprain / Complete Tear
4.) Degenerative Knee Disease
5.) Meniscus Injury / Tear
6.) Terrible Triad
7.) Dislocating Knee Cap
8.) Osteoarthritis
9.) PCL Tear / Injury
10.) LCL Injury / Tear

Any one of these issues can cause you knee pain and/or instability. - This can effect you when
you perform activities of daily living, or participate in sports.

The bottom line is that when you are looking to improve your stability level, a knee support can
really be a great aid to you. There are many different kinds, because as you can see there are
many different kinds of knee problems. - We will help give you some pointers to help you
choose the correct brace for your needs...

One of the things you should be thinking about is how you came to have your knee instability.

1.) Did you get it as a result of an accident or sporting incident?

2.) Has your physician given you a diagnosis, such as an ACL tear, or Osteoarthritis?

If your knee is slightly unstable then you only need to address this mild instability issue. There is
no need to over treat a problem, unless you really want to give yourself the maximum support for
prophylactic reasons. (This would be a good idea for football players, or those individuals that
participate in impact sports.)

Mild knee instability issues usually only require a simple knee sleeve or a simple hinged knee
brace. As your injury / instability level rises from here,to a more moderate or severe instability,
you will need to think about a more deluxe brace. These will have more intensive hinges at the
side of the leg that will help stop side to side movements that can cause you problems. Braces
that offer maximum support will also help stop front to back (flexion and extension) control.

These days many people go online to find the best deal possible for a knee brace. This is
absolutely understandable. Our suggestion is to go to a site where you can ask questions and get
answers. Moreover, the descriptions of many braces, on a good website, will talk about "ACL
instability" or "combined instabilities", or mild, moderate, or severe knee support. Look for a site
like this as well.

In the end, even a little extra knee support can go a long way. Do some homework to find out
which is the best for your needs and once you get your new knee brace you will be looking back
six months from now, wondering what you ever did without one!
