I appreciate your bringing this matter to my attention; however, Vericrest Financial, Inc. is not a
federally regulated mortgage lender, and therefore falls outside my jurisdiction as a United States
Senator. Consequently, I am unable to afford you the assistance you requested. I have forwarded your
complaint to the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) for their review. The FTC has informed me that, as a
matter of policy, they do not generally intervene in individual disputes. However, they have stated that
