Introduction
• Action Technology Limited (ATL), a software
developing company promoted by managing
director G R Vikas.
• 450 employees
• There was autonomy of people, so there was
no restriction on employee
– Employee can come on any time
– Employee can leave at any time
– Employee can work upto any time

• Work place remains open for 24 hrs

• Policies:
– No fix policies are set
– No fix leaves are given
– Employee should work at least 50 hrs a week

• Target
– Employee has to set weekly and monthly target
with management
– Employee is given plenty of autonomy
– Performance is measures in terms of target
– Target achievers are counseled
– and non-achievers are terminated

– Only those are selected who believe in autonomy
– Have motivation
– Applicants are encouraged to ask any question
Achievements
• In one year about 6% i.e. approx 27
employees of non-achievers are fired .

• But ATL is doing quite well as its growth rate is


33% per annum.
• ATL used Adaptive Structure which means
– Opposite to bureaucratic Organization Structure
– Contains high degree of openness to inputs
– And develops mechanisms by which it remains
flexible
– Responsibility is not restricted
