Dear Parents,

I am attaching this note to several of your child’s recent Math Study Links. I
have been placing high value on well-done work that shows good effort. To reinforce
this, I have marked the papers with either “e” for average effort, “e+” for high effort, or
“-e” for inadequate effort. This has been explained to the students. The evaluation mark
is based on correctness of the work, following the directions, the appearance and
condition of the work: neatness, completeness, attention to detail, etc. The children
understand that these evaluation marks will affect their overall effort grade on their report
cards.

I hope this is helpful to your child and to you. If you or your child has questions,
please let me know.
