The Way to God

The Case for Faith DVD hosted by Lee Strobel addresses one of the many questions that

Christians are being asked today. Is Jesus the only way to God? With the emphasis that getting

to God is of utter importance, the question of how to get to God has become a central issue that

cannot be ignored. People of all walks of life have constantly debated about Jesus being the only

way to God. The answer to this argument is seen as essential for every Christian who is hopeful

to get to God. Whereas some people have argued that Christians can get to God through other

means, it is evident that Jesus is the only way to God.

When Jesus was here on earth, he is recorded in the bible as having said that he was “the

way, the truth and the life” (John 14:6 Touch Point Bible). In the bible record, Jesus clearly

identifies that he is the only way to God, the father. This is because, the father sent Jesus to come

and reconcile the world to Him so as to redeem man from his sins. With Jesus being the way,

God calls his children to Himself through Jesus. In fact, Jesus spoke of the father and led people

to God through his teachings. In addition, his disciples pointed people to Jesus Christ reinforcing

that he is the only way to God.

While some people argue that Jesus is not the only way to God, the bible clearly indicates

that God has spoken to mankind through Jesus. The bible records that God “in these final days,

he has spoken to us through his Son” (Hebrews 1:2 Touch Point Bible). These words indicate

that God has chosen to us Jesus after using His prophets who had come before Jesus.

Furthermore, John the Baptist prepared the way for Jesus Christ to come and take on his father’s

work. With God speaking through Jesus Christ, all that come to God must identify with Jesus for

there is no other way that God has provided. Jesus mentions that his sheep recognize his voice

and this further reinforces that Jesus is the only way that God has offered to bring man back to

Himself. Without doubt, Jesus remains as the only true way to God.
