2 Application

Ladiquest 1097E Liquid has a good complex binding power for earth alkalis (Ca ++, Mg++) and
heavy metal ions (Fe+++, Cu ++, Mn++) even in the strongly alkaline region (pH 12). Disturbing
hardness forming salts which can impair the levelling power, solubility and washing off properties
of various dye classes as well as the bath stability and coupling power of the Naphthol AS dyes
are bound.

Dye which contain complex-bound metal such as the 1:1, 1:2 metal complex dyes and some
reactive and direct dyes are not attacked by Ladiquest 1097E Liquid. The lightfastness and
shades o f these dyes remain unchanged.

Ladiquest 1097E Liquid has excellent dispersing properties which reinforce the action of
surfactants in washing and soaping processes and synergistically improve the washing and
dispersing effects. When dyeing cellulosic fibres Ladiquest 1097E Liquid acts as a protective
colloid due to its dispersing power.

When soaping off reactive dyeings Ladiquest 1097E Liquid promotes washing off of the
hydrolysate and does not foam in jet and overflow dyeing machines. In package dyeing Ladiquest
1097E Liquid acts as a protective colloid against filtrations and protects against agglomerations
with cotton contaminations and hardness forming salts.

Ladiquest 1097E Liquid protects the goods, padding equipment and washing machines against
silicate deposits. Earth alkali ions from the treatment baths and cotton are bound by Ladiquest
1097E Liquid in dyeing processes and are therefore unable to form crusting with sodium silicate
on the goods and machines.

When preparing printing thickeners (e.g. alginate) an addition of 5 g/kg Ladiquest 1097E Liquid
results in better flexibility and longer stability of the printing paste.

Ladiquest 1097E Liquid is stable to hydrolysis in both the acid and alkaline pH regions as well
as under HT dyeing conditions. The product is distinguished by high stability to oxidizing and
reducing agents and is not sensitive to additions of electrolyte.

Ladiquest 1097E Liquid is readily compatible with other anionic and nonionic auxiliaries.

For water softening 0.15 g/l Ladiquest 1097E Liquid per 1.25°e is recommended.
