On the 1st Day of the 3rd grade you should be able to:

1. Write a complete sentence using a capital letter, complete thought, and end
marks.
2. Write a 3 paragraph expository essay using topic sentences, supporting
sentences, and concluding sentences.
3. Identify elements from Shurley grammar: antonyms, synonyms, analogies,
sn, v, adj, adv, singular/plural, common, and proper nouns, simple subject,
simple predicate, a/an
4. Math facts-addition, subtraction, multiplication, division
5. Addition/subtraction to the 100th place with regrouping and borrowing
6. Word problems: addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division
7. Counting money, time, temperature, measurement, place value
8. Cursive writing skills (formation, alignment, spacing, neatness)
9. 3rd grade spelling words and basic sight words, number words
10.Reading fluency 100-110 words per minute with no more than 2 errors
