ABSTRACT

A Leader is a person who rules or guides or inspires others. In past a leader wa


s a boss. Today’s leaders must be partners with their people. They no longer can l
ead solely based on positional power. The traditional role of a leader is that o
f being the boss. He is given authority by virtue of title, rank or tenure withi
n an organization. He is responsible for ensuring that the work gets done, accor
ding to established means or standard operating procedures. Workers need manager
s with to be clear when setting direction, explaining processes, establishing bo
undaries and communicating specific goals etc. Today modern leaders understand t
hat they cannot simply order employees.
The study focuses on the following points:
• Factors responsible for the changing role of leader.
• Working methodology of Business Leaders.
• Influence of leaders on the general public.
• Opportunities to take on leadership roles.
However, there are vast differences between the old-style of administrating and
directing and the new idea of guiding and inspiring. The study draws out the fea
sible techniques of budding appropriate leaders for tomorrow. Moreover the study
draws a comparison between the leaders of past and present. Leaders in future h
ave two-way involvement.
