SAP Company Profile

As the world's leading provider of business software, SAP delivers products and services that help
accelerate business innovation for customers. Doing so will unleash growth and create significant
new value for the customers, SAP, and ultimately, entire industries and the economy at large.
Today, more than 76,000 customers in more than 120 countries run SAP applications – from distinct
solutions addressing the needs of small businesses and midsize companies to suite offerings for
global organizations.
Headquartered in Walldorf, Germany, SAP is the world's largest business software company – with
more than 51,800 employees at sales and development locations in more than 50 countries
worldwide.
Global development approach focuses on distributing development across the world in strategically
important markets. A global network of SAP Labs spanning Bulgaria, Canada, China, Germany,
Hungary, India, Israel, and the United States, enables SAP to operate locally, yet organize globally.
As the global technology research unit of SAP, SAP Research significantly contributes to SAP's
product portfolio and extends SAP's leading position by identifying and shaping emerging IT trends
through applied research and corporate venturing. SAP Research has highly skilled teams in 11
research centers worldwide.
With more than 35 years of experience, SAP supports more than 76,000 customers worldwide, with
140,000 installations in 120 countries. SAP's unique ecosystem consists of 51,800 team members,
including 13,000 consulting and education employees and 7,700 service and support staff. And with
185,000 certified partner employees, 77 trainings centers, seven global support centers, nine custom
development centers, and genuine 24/7 support, SAP truly maximizes your business and IT success.
To ensure SAP's position as a technology leader, SAP Ventures invests in emerging entrepreneurial
companies that are advancing exciting new technologies. SAP Ventures operates independently from
the overall SAP strategy to discover and pursue opportunities for financial return. At the same time,
the organization brings substantial benefits to its portfolio companies and SAP by facilitating
interaction between innovative young companies and the SAP ecosystem.
The success of a venture investor is ultimately determined by the success of its portfolio. Over the
past ten years SAP Ventures has established an impressive record of investing in and working with
outstanding technology companies. To date, SAP Ventures has invested in over 75 companies,
primarily in North America and Europe.
Vision is for companies of all sizes to become best-run businesses. Best-run businesses transform
rigid value chains into dynamic business networks of customers, partners, and suppliers. They close
the loop between strategy and execution, help individuals work more productively, and leverage
technology for sustainable, profitable growth. This vision is in keeping with SAP's mission to
accelerate business innovation for companies and industries worldwide – contributing to economic
development on a grand scale.
SAP sees effective corporate governance as critical to achieving corporate goals and increasing the
company's value. Naturally, openness about the company's corporate governance principles,
practice, and structure is itself an important element in SAP's policy.
SAP's corporate governance structure follows Germany's system of corporate governance. This
structure separates management and supervisory functions into two distinct bodies: the Executive
Board and the Supervisory Board. Since governance in Germany includes employee participation, the
SAP Supervisory Board includes employee members.

SAP PAPER ON 12th AUGUST 2006 AT DELHI

This paper was quite different from the previously stated ones.

2 sections only. 30 mins each.

No negative marking. (although the page said -0.25... i was informed by the stupid guys when i was
on the 2nd section!!!!!!)
All questions on a single scroll down page.
No RDBMS!!!!
Once the first 30 mins are over u ca't go back to the previous section.

Section 1 : Logical Reasoning (only 2-3 questions on %age, etc very simple)

30 questions/30 Mins.
1.(easy) ABCDEFG are lessons... they need to be taught according to some 5-6 given conditions ....
a) Which is the correct order?
b)Which lesson is a must if only 4 need to be taught.

2.(easy)Two politicians...winner % votes recd of total votes...?

3.Batsman...average runs in first innings... (lengthy question).

3 or 4 questions on Sufficiency.. (a lil tricky)

5 questions on replace the mathematical operators and evaluate... (Do we use BODMAS here???)

Basically all the questions very easy... i f u preapred for CAT even for just 1 month u'd get thru. But
the questions were very much not solvable in 30 mins..

Section 2 : Technical (Algorithms/GraphTheory/C)

30 questions/30 mins

2-3 code snippets were given.. had to choose the correct algo complexity (big O)
1 code completion snippet on DFS (depth first search) (very easy)
1 question where graph was drawn.. had to choose the shortest path!! (childs play!!!)
Q) const can be used with a)array b)identifirer c)array argument d)all
Q) Find the incorrect statement : ans : dynamic allocation is done at compile time. (false)
Q)same ques repeated twice " what does adjacency matrix show?"
Q) 2-3 questions on prefix/postfix/infix conversion. (easy)

I finished the second section with 4 mins to spare. It was very easy. But the first was too lengthy
and frustrating...besides they din tell me soon enough that there was no -ve marking.

All the Best
