Conditional Sentences

Conditional Sentences Type 1


Di gunakan untuk menyatakan suatu tindakan (main clause) yang
hanya akan terjadi bila syarat (if clause) terpenuhi
if clause : simple present tense
main clause : simple future tense (S+will+V1)
e.x. If I have a lot of money, I will buy a new car
You will master english, if you study hard
We will get the job, if we try harder

Conditional Sentences Type 2


Di gunakan untuk menyatakan suatu tindakan yang berlawanan
dengan kenyataan saat ini
if clause : simple past tense
main clause : pas future / conditional tense (S+would+V1)
e.x. If you studied hard, you would pass the exam
If I had a lot of money, I would lend you some
If we tried harder, we would get the job

Conditional Sentences Type 3


Di gunakan untuk menyatakan suatu syarat yang tidak mungkin lagi
dipenuhi karena waktunya telah berlalu
if clause : past perfect
main clause : past fiture perfect (S+would have+V3)
e.x. If I had studied hard, I would have passed the exam
I would have come to your house, if the weather had been fine
If I had the money, I would buy a big car

Passive Voice

Passive voice dibentuk dengan cara menggunakan “to be” dan V3


Berikut berbagai pola perubahan dari kalimat aktif menjadi kalimat
pasif sesuai dengan tensesnya

Simple Present
S + am/is/are + V3
e.x. (AV) He opens the window every morning
(PV) The window are opened by him every morning

Present Continuous
S + am/is/are + being + V3
e.x. (AV) My father is reading a magazine now
(PV) The magazine is being read by my father now
Simple Past
S + was/were + V3
e.x. (AV) My mother bought some kilos of salt
(PV) Some kilos of salt were bought by my mother

Past Continuous
S + was/were + being + V3
e.x. (AV) Sandra was making a cake when her mother went out
(PV) A cake was being made by Sandra when her mother went out

Simple Future
S + shall/will + be + V3
e.x. (AV) People will grow rice next month
(PV) Rice will be grown next month

S + am/is/are + going to + be + V3
e.x. (AV) People are going to build a dam
(PV) A dam is going to be built

Present Perfect
S + has/have + been+ V3
e.x. (AV) Someone has stolen my money
(PV) My money has been stolen

Past Perfect
S + had + been + V3
e.x. (AV) After he had finished the work, he went home
(PV) After the work had been finished, he went home

Future Past Perfect


S + shall/will + have + been + V3
e.x. (AV) I will have finished my study by the end of this year
(PV) My study will have been finished by the end of this year
