Ensure the server is on the SAN network

2. Zone tape drives to (LAN-FREE) backup server (TSM Client) ie: Sacmsgmb004
3. Install TSM Storage Agent software on client server
It’s under TSM\TSM Client Software\TSM Storage Agent
4. Install “IBM Tape x86_6154_3592” device drivers
It’s under TSM\TSM Client Software\TSM Storage Agent
5. Reboot
6. Ensure server can see the drives in TSM Mgmt Console
7. Set up storage agent as server for server – server communication to TSM Server and Library
Manager.
8. Modify the client dsm.opt file
9. Start TSM Storage Agent Services
10. Test backup
11. Check TSM server and search actlog (to ensure LAN-FREE) backup process work…
(q actlog search=storage_agent_name msgno=8337)
