ACCIDENTAL FIND AT TREMNIK - NEGOTINO

At the village Tremnik, near Negotino,

were discovered valuable artifacts,
noting another important archaeological
site on the territory of the Republic of
Macedonia.

The golden coins with the images

of Fillip II and Alexander III the
Macedonian are just a part of the
valuable archaeological find in
the Negotino area. Among the
discovered objects is also a
golden application with the image
of Poseidon, small buttons of
Malavian type with stellar juts,
about one hundred armbands, as
well as petal necklace pendants.
The total weight of the
discovered objects is
about 700 grams of gold,
but more important is their
specific and exceptional
historical significance.

These discoveries
confirm once again the
historical continuity on
our soil, because
globally it is more than
valuable to discover and
to possess artifacts
dating from the 4th
century BC.

The discovered objects are under conservation, after which they will be kept in
the Museum of Negotino, which is being built and adjusted with financial
assistance from the Ministry of Culture, but also from foreign donations.

2
In this case, the Cultural Heritage Protection Office would like to emphasize
the impeccable cooperation with the citizens which, without any hesitation, had
submitted the discovered artifacts to the Museum of the City of Negotino, and
even more, they had not requested any financial remuneration for the
accidental find.
