Special type of hollow-block slabs

Another good example showing the use of one and two-way hollow-block slabs to
cover wide spans is given in fig. It show the details of the roof of a mosque
15*15 ms. The slab is assumed fixed at the perimeter of the out side octagon.
Its middle octagonal part, 10 ms wide, is a two-way hollow-block slab 25 cms
thick. The out side parts are 75 cms one-way hollow-block slabs to resist the
negative moments of the fixation. These fixing moments are transmitted to the
triangular parts at the corners and to the heavy wall beams at the central parts.
Such beams can resist the fixing moments of the roof, the slab, outside the
internal octagon, is composed of a 25 cms lower comp . slab overlaid by 40 cms
hollow-blocks covered by 10 cms slab.

take t = 0.35 m as H= 0.25 m
& ts = 0.1 m and take b = 0.1 m

+ 5*0.02 + 0.5*(0.15 + 0.4)
w = 0.5625 t/m`/ rib
and the weight for solid part
