William Tyndale's Attitude Toward

the Scriptures vs. Eugene Petersen's

William Tyndale Apostle vs. Apostate Eugene Petersen

First man to translate and print an English Bible Author of “The Message” a new age paraphrase
for which he was put to death by the enemies of of the Bible that corrupts its major doctrines.
God.
I think it meet that every Christian man not Well, why do people spend so much time
only know it, by rote and without the book, studying the Bible? How much do you need
but also exercise himself therein evermore to know? We invest all this time in
continually, as with the daily bread of the understanding the text which has a separate
soul. No man verily can read it too oft, or life of it's own and we think we're being more
study it too well; for the more it is studied, pious and spiritual when we're doing it. But
the easier it is; the more it is chewed, the it's all to be lived. It was given to us so we
pleasanter it is; and the more groundly it is could live it. But most Christians know far
searched, the preciouser things are found in more of the Bible than they're living. They
it, so great treasure of spiritual things lieth should be studying it less, not more. You just
hid therein... need enough to pay attention to God.
(If Petersen is referring to “The Message” I couldn't agree
From Tyndale's Prologue to Romans more about reading it less..)
