Title of the project

Automatic Multilevel Car Parking System

Abstract

Parking is a major problem in densely populated and market areas. Usually a ground or
basement parking system will be provided in these areas which will be fully occupied in
prime hours of the day. The major cause of this is incorrect parking of cars or vehicles by
the people which will at least reduce 1-2 vehicle parking spaces for every 10-20 places.
Our system facilitates parking of cars and similar vehicles in a multistoried automated
system which will accommodate more cars or vehicles in less space and also provide
security to the vehicle as it can only be accessed by the user and also automate the
parking process so the user’s need no worry about incorrect parking and can avoid
penalties. Some main features of the system are as detailed below.

- Fully automated parking with Mechatronic systems – parks the car without driver’s
assistance.

- Complete vehicle security as the vehicle is parked inside a premises with only
access to the user.

- Straight drive in and out system which automatically changes orientation of the
vehicle.

- Approximately takes 30-50 seconds for retrieval of car from parking mechanism.

- Fully prepaid and authenticated system with account management.

The user parks the car in a room similar to a car parking garage by entering the user code
and pin of the user if the users account is having sufficient funds the garage door opens
up and lets the user park the car. Then the user simply walks out after which the human
presence detector makes sure that no persons are left in the car after which it closes the
parking lot’s door and places the car in an empty slot of the system. For retrieval the user
follows same procedure but the door opens up after the system had retrieved the car.

Robotic Parking Systems Inc.

How it works??

The Robotic Parking Systems patented technology enables parking from hundreds up to
several thousand cars in half the area of a conventional ramp-style garage. This creates
more space for design, development and community enhancements. Architects and
developers can use less space for parking and incorporate more green space, retail space,
residential or office space or combinations of these.

Robotic Parking Systems recently opened the first high-speed automated parking garage
in the Middle East providing parking for 765 cars to a mixed-use development that
includes office space, residential apartments and a five star hotel.
Robotic Parking Systems is a key complementary feature of the
Ibn Battuta Gate Complex in Dubai.

PARK YOUR CAR

1. Drive up to the automated parking garage. The Robotic Parking System offers complete
design flexibility and can blend with any neighborhood or project.

2. Drive into the convenient parking terminal. Multiple automatic sensors ensure that the
car is properly positioned for parking. Robotic Parking Systems offer better care and
safety for vehicles.
3. Get out and lock the car. There is no need to drive through the garage to find a parking
space. Robotic Parking Systems offer a greater level of convenience.

4. Take the parking card from the kiosk and walk away. You get premium valet parking
without the valet.

5. Robotic Parking Systems does the rest. The car is picked up by the computerized
machinery and lifts that will safely place it inside the building on a shelving system. The
automated parking garage at Ibn Battuta Gate handles 250 cars per hour with up to 32
cars in motion at any one time.

RETRIEVE YOUR CAR

6. Enter the well lit and secure ground floor lobby and put the parking card into the kiosk.
The Robotic Parking System provides the highest possible level of security for
individuals.

7. Screens display the exit terminal where the car can be retrieved. The Robotic Parking
System swiftly delivers the car in 3 minutes or less.
8. The Robotic Parking Systems’ machinery delivers the car facing forward so that it is safe
and easy to exit the garage.

9. Get into the car in the exit terminal. It is not necessary to wander around inside the
garage to retrieve the car.

10. Drive away. The Robotic Parking System makes parking safe and hassle free.
WPS Parking Systems

WPS Parking Systems, in conjunction with our European partner, Wöhr Parking Systems,
provides customers with the world’s most innovative automated parking technology. An
automated parking system can increase parking capacity by up to 50%, compared to a
conventional ramp parking garage. Wöhr has been one of the world’s foremost
manufacturers of parking technology for more than 40 years. In 1991 the company
produced its first automated parking facility and never looked back. They currently have
over one hundred (100) projects completed. WPS parking systems is the exclusive partner
of Wöhr Parking Systems in the New York metro area.

Many urban areas have experienced rapid growth in recent years, and more people means
more cars. As a result, many areas are faced with the challenge of balancing the desire to
maintain open space with the need to provide a parking facility that can accommodate the
urban growth. An automated parking facility provides an environmentally friendly solution
to this issue. Listed below are several benefits to an automated parking facility.

The driver enters a secure, well lighted entry area and parks the automobile on a storage
pallet. Before an automobile is placed in storage, it is scanned for any foreign objects (i.e.
Movement in the vehicle, electronic devices, etc.) An Automated Parking System is user-
friendly and allows the driver to store his or her automobile in a secure space until it is
ready for retrieval. There is no risk of damage, theft or vandalism, since the driver does
not enter the parking area. At the time of exit the driver uses a personal access card that
starts the retrieval process.
During storage in the automated facility the automobile engine is turned off. This allows
the facility to be designed with no mechanical ventilation. This provides an environmental
benefit as well as a better utilization of space. An Automated Parking System requires no
ramps or drive aisles.

In both the public and private sector the issue of security has come to the forefront of
everyday life. How to provide a safe and secure facility for automobiles is becoming an
issue for all building owners. An automated parking facility can provide a transfer area
from the street to the automated parking facility that can be equipped with the latest
technology to scan an automobile for the highest level of security. This is an advantage for
both existing government facilities as well as new buildings.

has been shaped, to a large extent, by the satisfaction of our customers.

How the CarSafe® Automated Parking Systems Works

Westfalia turns parking into a convenient, safe experience

Based on our modular design, our CarSafe® Automated Parking Systems offer you the technology your system requires –
nothing more, and nothing less. CarPark keeps cars safe and secure as they move within the parking system.

Here’s how automated parking works:

1. All sequences of the automated parking system are activated by

payment or an electronic parking card.

2. The driver pulls into an invitingly bright and clean “entry cabin”, turns
off the engine, puts on the car in "park" or and uses the parking brake.
A dialog system is there to communicate the next steps with the
driver at all times.

3. The driver exits. After leaving the car,

the rest of the parking process is
performed automatically.

4. A brief safety check follows. The car remains on the pallet (for pallet
systems) for the duration of its stay. (Inquire about Westfalia’s
palletless design also!)

5. Next, various electromechanical components transport the car to a

vacant parking space. Based on the
size of the parking system, cars are transported either along horizontal
platforms or vertical lifts to and from their spaces (see photo to left).

6. When picking up the car, the car retrieval process can be initiated on the spot, or as an option, by
phone, internet or SMS request.

7. Upon return the driver will get into his car, and only pull forward, due to turntables installed at the
entry and exit of the garage, which orient the car correctly (no reversing).
