I Ihoughtthal I'd spend some time this issue thanking sonne folks and letting YI)U know about all fhe people involved \\ith getting a new series out on the stands and making it somewhat successful!.

The first person rd tike to thank is my wife, Wanda. It is her continual support thai keeps me going ewn when the deadline crunch seems to·be alii can think of. As well as being a great: wife you will also notice her name listed as, the ed'I1Gr cl this book. She is helPing to guide my path so I don' oll'9r iOOl.ltge myself 1:00 far and bri'ngs a flllsh outlook 10 lhe book ~hat hasn't been tainted bnears of being told how an editor is supposed to affecl a book.. BesIdes, she's the only&dilor rll istenlo.

O,n the leltering sido of things is a man by the name otTom Orzechowski. Those of you llilal pay at:ten:l!on 10,lhe credits ,01 comics will have noticed his name on the X·Men comic 'lor the past ten years or so. On top of doing ewry possible m'tMnl book, Tom has a long history of wooong on independent comics and has lent hi,s talents 10 maliY worthy projects 100 numerous 10 list here. What it boils down to is the fact that sillCEl it i,s my duty 10 now Ilaw to hire everyone on !he book I can cl1ooS8'lllose tihat in my opinion are the very best. Thafs Tom. It's as simple as Ihal.

Using that same train of thouglht also brought me to the coloris1 on the book, SIeve Ofrff. Ws have been promising each other that we would somehow get I,ogethier on a special project some<lay, Well, thal da¥ has linally arrived. Stave, who Is helped by Rueben Rude and lho, nlst of the g!lllg at Olyoplics, has been working on ,A;kiira forM!arw~ic as well as doing a sensational job all !Legends 01 the DarklKnight lor DC Comics. Bolh books are extremely bea.u1iful, but rd ~ke to think that the Spam is now his pet. project. From lneresults I'Ye seen so far, lhewhole Olyopl~cs CJeW am goilng beyond my best expectalions. Agailn, Steve is si m pry on& of the best.

The, cowrs forthell9xtfew issues are by Ken Sleacy. A fellow crazy Canuck from Canada, his airbrushing magic has been dazzling peo,ple for years, I decided to try Ken on the free illlS9rt poster for issue number one and was soiimpAlssed with the resullthat I aske<I him to do some covers for me. He will be IlJing a few neat tricks to grab your attention so' that hopefully you will want 10 look at the rest of I.he book. His ,color sense, just like Stew's, is one of a llind.

!Besides what a.ctually' goes on, the primed page, IMI'9' are a numoo;r of individuals behind the scenes that help in gelling the book into ~Illrhands. MalbuCcmics has been there every slep of the way prc-mpti ng, soUcitil19, hyping and jusl plai n buggi n9 pe opie to pay aHemonlo this new wnrurewe call~ Ilmage Comics. They will be out aeress the country. 90rng to conventions and sharing the news on lUpC<Iming projects from Image as well as Ihe books tlilat come directly from Ma~bu itsetl. Go talk 10 the gang il you see ~hem or write to' Ihem wilh your thoughts about whal you lUke 'or don't like about Imag$.

The next group that I'd lUke to menlion are some 01 the most lunny, talented, oompetitive and hungry 9Uo/s that you could ever hope to meet .. I'm talking of course of the Image boys. Wilhoutlhem the success of an our books wou'ld 'be cllJ1 in half. This is where the real excitement comes from. Each ,one of us is busy working aw.ay on our books, doing all we can 10 make ourproducls come out 6ke we each warn and hoping lhal you ,out there are wilrmg to join us for the j,oumey. Our ene rgy is :keepi ng each of us motivated and consistently on our toes tlJing to outdo, each other. I'f one guy' has a cool hero, then the others have 10 come up with :soloothi'ng cooklr. TI!ie same goes for Villains, stories, and page layouts, As our new universe grows, we keep adding idea.s that we hope will brillg an enthusiasm to !he readers. Also, our mInds keep comIng up with new names that we~d love 10 :see in the pages of an Image comic or some olher company crossover.

SpeaJidng of new names, I'd ike 10 be able 10 make an exciting new announcement III Fim !here was Youngblood. llhen Spawn, Then the Savage Dragon. Soon there wi.ll be Briigade and WlLDC AT.S and CyberfOI"09 and Shadowhawk and[ Wet Wor1ts, Now we, haw added a new book to the growing rarb on Image. I~'s called PItt. The exact details of the ohamc!er wi II be given out at this year's Chicago Co n during the July teerth weekend. But I can give )IOU the biggest piece of news ... !he new Pitt book will be drawn a:oo inked by that sensational

artist on The Incredlble 1-tJ~1k, Dale Keown!!! The Mst just keeps getting bigger and bellter. Uefeld. McFarlane. Larsen. Lee. Williams. Silvestri. Vaientilno. Pertaeic, Aliid now Dale Keown. The, best thing about him is that he's another fellow Canadian. Looks ilce we'llI linvading lhe place .. You will be al:)le to find more about this book in the upcoming months.

Befonl goi'ng I'd also ~ke to thank the other groups responsible lor getting my book out. First, lhe, diistribllllors a.crosslhis count!)' fer organizing and heli>ing TMlh the book getting out'to all1h9 stores, Then come tllemtailers who order the books that you now have in your Ihands, And rnl"l3lly, you the reader, ferwith01:ll your Sllpport none oUhe abow melllioned names would be anywheJe. Thank you lor buying Ihis bookaod more importantly, thank yOlil for buying comics iln general. It's a gl9at field and 11m: glad to be a part of il ill someway.

Next issue~ Spawn finally comes face to face with his wife of five ~rs ago. Will tHings be the
