NEED OF THE STUDY

The requirement of study ³Analysis of pricing trend of IPOs launched in 2009´ is that there are
lot of IPOs issued in present market. Because Indian primary market has come a long way
particularly in the last decade. This changed the whole facet of Initial Public Offering (IPO)
market. So the study will help to examine that whether the IPOs were overpriced or underpriced
and why?

SCOPE OF THE STUDY

Scope of the study is broader and covers the all issued IPO during 2009. The study will provide a
very clear picture of the impact of these IPOs on Indian stock indices. It will also describe the
market trends due to IPO overpriced or underpriced.
The study would be helpful for further descriptive studies on the ideas that will be explored.
Moreover, it would be beneficial to gain knowledge regarding Initial public offering, their
process of registration and their impact on Indian stock market.
