1.0 INTRODUCTION TO ADDITION TABLE

1.1. Properties of addition table


i. To represent addition a table must be commutative, that is given any 2 symbols, and
the table should give the same answer.
ii. Associative - in a series of addition does not matter which sum is calculated first
Example: 3 + 6 + 8, we can add (3 + 6) then add 8 or we can add (6 + 8) then add 3
iii. Must have zero value
iv. Must give distinct answer to certain questions

1.2. Solving an addition in a table.


To make an addition in a table, it depends on the base number use. As an example:

Base number: 2 (0, 1, 10, 11,101...)

Base number : 3 (0,1,2,10,11,12,13..)

Base number : 4 (0,1,2,3,10,11,12,13..)
