The Cobblers Study Centre is part of a

national initiative called Playing for Suc-
cess (PfS) based at Northampton Town
Football Club at the Sixfield's Stadium.
The Study Centre is an exciting and dy-
namic partnership between Northamp-
tonshire County Council and the Cob-
blers. We work in close partnership with
local schools and educational providers
to raise educational standards across
Northamptonshire.
Our main Playing for Success programme
runs throughout the week for Key Stage 2
pupils (7-11 year olds) and for Key Stage
3 pupils (11-14 year olds). The Study cen-
tre is also open throughout the daytime
and during the school holidays to provide
a range of educational projects for differ-
ent learners.
At the Cobblers Study Centre we aim to
raise children’s literacy and numeracy
levels using state of the art I.C.T equip-
ment and the inspirational and busy sur-
roundings of a sporting venue. We use
the medium of sport and football in par-
ticular to help tackle learning and moti-
vation amongst pupils identified by indi-
vidual schools. At the Cobblers Study
Centre we aim to improve the confi-
dence and self esteem of every child
that walks through our doors.
