The ancient Egyptian mysteries of Sokar and Hu.

Sokar was an ancient god who often took the form of a falcon. Sokar is often known as
the god who gives new bodies to souls who wish to live again in the lower worlds.

Sokar is often connected to the underworld (or lower worlds) frequently depicted in royal
tombs in the Thebes area. As souls leave their bodies they were thought to be brought by
Sokar into a henu barque where Sokar helped transport newly departed souls into new
bodies.

In the old Kingdom of MenNefer, they celebrated a festival in Sokar's honor. Workman
went on holiday to celebrate with offerings to those deceased. People wore garlands of
onions and celebrated late into the night paying tribute to Sokar and those that had
passed over. In Thebes in a yearly celebration the image of Sokar was carried on a
gilded boat. The festival celebrated Osiris' resurrection as Sokar.
