Objectives :

The objective of the course is to make the students familiar with some basic mathematical,
statistical and linear programming techniques. The main focus is in their applications in
business.

1. Classification, Tabulation and Presentation of Data:
Introduction: Data and its classification, tabulation of data, cumulative frequency
distribution, Types of Diagrams and Graphs, Histogram, Frequency Polygon,

2. Measures of Central Tendency

Arithmetic Mean, Weighted arithmetic mean, Median and Mode, Graphic location of

3 Measures of Dispersion
Range, Quartile Deviation, Mean deviation, Standard deviation, Variance, Coefficient

4 Simple Correlation Analysis

Introduction, Karl Pearson’s Correlation Coefficient, Spearman’s rank Correlation

5 Simple Regression Analysis
