‘THE PHILIPPINE ASSOCIATION OF MEDICAL TECHNOLOGISTS, INC. (PAMET)
‘The Philippine Association of Medical Technologists otherwise known as the PAMET is
the national organization of all registered medical technologists in the Philippines. It was
‘by Mf. Crisanto Almario who is recognized as the Father of PAMET in an attempt to
standardize and to give dignity to the profession on September 15, 1963 at the Manila Public
Health Laboratory in Sta. Cruz, Manila, The first national convention of PAMET was held at FEU
on September 20, 1964.

PREAMBLE
We, the Medical Technologists of the Philippines drawn together by the singleness of
aims and purposes, in our desire to bring to the people of his country, the benefits of high moral
and professional efficiency and effective public service, unite ourselves into one body to attain

and enjoyment of right privileges to which are justly entitled: do hereby ardain and promulgate

ARTICLE 1
NAME, SEAL, AND OFFICE
SECTION. Name. = The name of the Association shall be: The Phitippine Association of
‘Medical Technologists, Inc. (PAMET)-
SECTION2 Office. = The principal office of this association shalt be in Metro Manila,
Philippines o: as designated by the Board of Directors.ens

Sent, = The seal shall be cixcular and bear the name of the Association and the year
it was founded. An equilateral triangle within which is a figure of a microscope
and a snake, Below the space of the triangle is written the letters - PAMET.
‘Ainis and Purposes. = The association shali have the following aims and purposes:
a. to unify the Medical Technologists in the Philippines into one cohesive and
productive organization;
b. to maintain the highest standards in the practice of Medical Technology and
Research;
cto create mutual understanding and couperation among Medical Technologists,
physicians, and other allied health professionals;
d. to foster and maintain high standard of education by dissemination of
technical knowledge through interchange of icteas and information;
eto promote welfare of members of the Assoctation;
£ to promote cordial relationship among members of the Association and the
ASEAN and International Association;
g to prescribe the standards in the laboratory procedures, techniques,
management:
Ih to encourage and promote the practice of Medical Technology by stimulating
the proper evaluation and better appreciation of laboratory procedures and.

“Members. ~ Medical Technologiste/Technicians who have been duly registered a6
required by Philippine Laws shall qualify for membership of the Association.”|

Classification of Membership
a. Regular ~ is conferred to duly registered Medical Technologists who have
‘been Janior Members for at ieast two (2) years, has garnered at least seventy-
five(75) credit units as provided by the CMTE (Continuing Medical
‘Technology Education Accreditation Committee)
b. Junior - is canferred to holders of BS Medical Technology who have just
‘registered with the Professional Regulation Commission.
‘c. Associate ~ shall be conferzed to duly registered Medical Techaiclans.
&. Fellow - shall be conferred to members who have attended
conventions/congress (local or international/abroad) with a total of ten (10)
certification of attendance provided that this conventions/congresses pertains
to the Medical Technology profession and who gamered at least three
‘nundred fifty (350) credit units, have been active practice for at east ten (10)
years and passed specialty exams given by the Specialty Board of the
Association,
e. Honorary ~ maybe conferred by the Board of Directors a8 distinct honor for
service rendered in the field of labaratary medicine or services rendered for
the improvement af the Medical Technotogy Profession in the Philippines.
f. Life - shall be conferred by the Board of Directors ta Fellow Members upon
paying the amount equivalent to five (5) years membership fee.
Place of Membership. ~ A Medical Technologist may seek membership in a chapter
of the province ar city where his/her office or residence is located. In na case can &
“Medical Technologist be a member of more than one (1) chapter.
‘Duce, ~ Every member shall pay membership dues annually except for life and
honorary membership. The dues shall cover the calendar year and shall be paid
not later then December of each year to be in good standing.
Termination of Membership. ~ Members to the Association may be terminated in
his/her membership an the following grounds:
a. nonepayment of required membership dues for a period of twa (2) years.
'b. by the Board of Directors, after a due process, as a disciplinary measure.
Reinstatement « shall be made by:
a. paying the required annual dues plus penalty
b. im accordance with rales and regulations prescribed by the Board of Directors.
Upgrading. - Any member may upgrade his/hor memborship status/clasafication
by applying to the Committea on Membership enclosing all necessary supporting
