Semester 1, 2010 UQ Student Exchange Scholarships & Travel

Deadline: May 31, 2009

Students who have submitted their UQ Abroad application by the deadline (see
above) and meet the relevant scholarship eligibility criteria
(http://www.uq.edu.au/uqabroad/uq-student-exchange-scholarships), will be
automatically considered for one of the scholarships/travel grants listed below:

1. 60 $1000 UQ STUDENT EXCHANGE TRAVEL GRANTS

2. 12 $5000 UQ STUDENT EXCHANGE SCHOLARSHIPS: MERIT-BASED

3. 13 $5000 UQ STUDENT EXCHANGE SCHOLARSHIPS: STRATEGIC-BASED

a. Of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent (1 scholarship)

b. Studying at a Universitas 21 partner (3 scholarships)

i. Canada –McGill University
ii. USA – University of Virginia
iii. Mexico – Tec de Monterrey
iv. Ireland – University of College Dublin
v. UK – University of Glasgow, University of Nottingham, University
of Birmingham,
vi. Hong Kong – The University of Hong Kong
vii. Republic of Korea – Korea University
viii. Singapore – National University of Singapore
ix. New Zealand – University of Auckland
x. Sweden – Lund University

c. Studying in a foreign language or studying a foreign language in the

country where that language is spoken (3 scholarships)

d. Studying at a Nordic partner: (2 scholarships)

i. Norway – University of Bergen, University of Oslo
ii. Finland – University of Tampere
iii. Sweden – Gothenburg University, Uppsala University, University
of Stockholm
iv. Denmark – University of Copenhagen, Technical University of
Denmark

e. Studying at one of the following UQ partner institution listed by the

Times Higher Education Supplement as one of the top 50 institutions in
the world*: (3 scholarships)
i. University of Pennsylvania, USA
ii. University of Manchester, UK
iii. University of California at Los Angeles, USA
iv. University of California Berkeley, USA
v. Chinese University of Hong Kong, Hong Kong
vi. Seoul National University, Korea
