I have included a few pointers

of how I finish the plate. These things are all a little different, so some fitting may be

required.

The first thing is to see how the gun goes together. Slide on top and bottom
plates. They go on from rear. Put on LHSP. If all goes well. Put your spade grip on
back Put trunnion in front (hold in place w/c-clamp). Now place top cover on it. It
should latch down into place. Starting to look like a gun, huh? If everything goes
together smoothly, your ready to start drilling holes. If not, you'll have to determine
what requires extra filing/machining, Whatever.

. At this point, with everything together, I use a 3/16 drill bit and use the top and
bottom plates for ,t~~mplate. lthenbore the 16 rivet holes. lthen change to 5132 drill
bit and drill the .~"'h9",,!~.~.:Fheplate has a spot for it. (Tothis day I don't know what it's
for, but I put it in anyway};~Ithen put a 10-32 tap' in the drill press and tap the 4 holes for
the charging assembly.

If you are going to use the bolt hold back or just want it to look brginal, here is
where I disassemble e,~erything except top plate. Turn plate over with top plate. Place 2
or 3 rivets thru holes toinaintain alignment. (q9 not set) Using a 3/16 bit again, you
can use the block as a template todrill 3 of the 4 holes. The 4th you'll have to measure

Ok, now we will cut the 60 degree be~~ls in the square holes. Take off top plate.
Her~ it helps to have a mill or drill pn;~ssi¥lth a swivel head. I place the plate in a vise, -

(upside down) and turn head 30 degree's, using a J/8 end mill. I set the depth to about
.060 fr6~bottom of plate. You do NO~.~~~qt~o'deep. These angles are'what
